The NCRO has contacted Chrysler to determine how they will handle the disposition of the Early Retirement Reinsurance Program (ERRP) money they will receive from the federal government. These funds are part of a $5 Billion appropriation that was included in the Affordable Care Act. You should have received a letter from Chrysler that explains they have been approved to receive these funds and are pursuing the funds. At this time they do not know the exact amount of funds they will receive so they have not yet decided precisely how these funds will be distributed. They do plan to make a distribution to plan participants coincident with the 2012 health care signup. The plan is to distribute the funds through some reduction in premiums or a total reduction in premiums depending on the funds Chrysler ultimately receives. We will continue to discuss this with Chrysler and work to ensure we get the maximum benefit of the ERRP funds.
